At 23, Noah Barclay says he spent seven days at the Ottawa Heart Institute with an unstable heart rate, confined to his bed, unable to shower or walk. Due to COVID restrictions, he says he was alone for most of that time — his parents could only visit after five days. He tells the Allison Inquiry he didn’t know whether he would survive and, for years after, didn’t expect to reach 26. He says some nurses suggested the vaccine may have been the cause, but no doctor ever confirmed it. About four months after his release, he says he began to collapse at the wheel while driving home, yet turned back when the pain subsided. The question his account raises: why, as he says, was he never given an official explanation?
