Joseph Pritchard tells the Allison Inquiry that before he was placed in a medically induced coma, a nurse held his hand and told him he might not survive. His response, he says, was a smile and the words "let’s rock and roll." He woke up roughly three weeks later. He says he spent nearly six months in hospital, watching body bags pass by in the ICU while intubated. He says a cyst — reportedly started by a blood clot — destroyed part of his pancreas and he is now fully diabetic. He also says he had a deep vein thrombosis requiring three surgeries, leaving his right leg at 35% circulation. He says amputation is a possibility he anticipates. Today, he says, he watches every step and sometimes waits in the car rather than risk someone stepping on his foot in a crowd.
