Joseph Pritchard says his right leg currently has 35% circulation and that he expects it may be amputated ‘one day in the not-too-distant future.’ He describes having to navigate crowded places with extreme caution — at grocery stores, he says he waits in the car rather than risk someone stepping on his foot. At home, still awaiting acknowledgment from the vaccine injury program, he sleeps with his feet elevated in a makeshift setup: a laundry basket with pillows. He also says he had kidney and liver damage, was on dialysis, and had to wear diapers in his early 40s. ‘It’s a daily fight,’ he says.
